FAQs

Ray & Wally's Towing Service, Inc.

  • What do I need to get my car out if the police towed it?

To retrieve your vehicle after a police tow, you may need several items. First, a police release from the department responsible for the tow might be required, depending on the reason and jurisdiction. If you plan to drive the vehicle, you must present a valid U.S. driver's license, registration, and insurance for the towed vehicle. The owner must be present, or you'll need a notarized letter from the owner and a copy of their identification. For towing the vehicle out, proof of ownership (such as a title, bill of sale, or registration) and identification are necessary. If an insurance company is retrieving the vehicle, you'll need identification, proof of ownership, and an insurance card with a claim number. In all cases, full payment of the tow bill is required before release.
